| The UCI water polo program receives assistance from many
supporters, mainly through the work of the Newport Water Polo Foundation,
which is an organization of UCI alumni and friends of the sport. A tax-exempt,
non-profit organization, Newport Water Polo helps promote the sport of
water polo in the area. The Foundation distributes a newsletter to its
members several times during the year, dealing with water polo news and
issues, including mental and physical health. The NWPF
Newsletter is also online. Many of the UCI players compete for the
Newport Water Polo Club during the spring and summer U.S. Water Polo season.
The Foundation is instrumental in the success of the sport in
this area at various levels. Newport Water Polo Foundation raises funds,
mostly individual donations, on an annual basis to support the spring and
summer water polo program, in addition to the fall UCI water polo program.
