Heres a look at my Hotrod Bug.

I started this project a couple of years ago and it just got pushed down the priority list. I'm about ready to resume work on it again ( May, 2000 ) and will update this page with pictures as I go along.
Mainly, I need to finish modifications to the rear suspension geometry, get a new steering box in it, raise it up a little, put the glass in, and put the interior back in. And a million other little things that always come up in a project like this.
This is my third Buick V-8 powered Bug, and my first top chop. I built the first one in 1972. In all I have put more than 150,000 miles on the combination and can recomend it highly.

A lowered swing axle with it's tires still straight up and down. Roof posts were spread so the chop could be accomplished with only one top.
I let the top follow the front posts forward. The rear window stayed full sized because it is curved and tempered and difficult to modify.
This engine weighs 320 lbs. Sheetmetal has been removed from behind the 4-row radiator for airflow.
1962 Buick aluminum V-8, with 215 cu. in. and 180 horsepower stock. This one has a mild Isky cam. no picture yet
