The carabiner height is not limited to predetermined attachment locations. A sliding adjustment is used so that the carabiner can be located at any point between the waist and the shoulders to mimic any paramotor from low weight shift types to high hook-ins.

The lowest setting is just right for paraglider training.

This harness is the result of several years experimentation with Ground Handling Harnesses. Along the way, we developed some unique features we feel will make this harness come to be regarded as more comfortable and longer lasting than any other.

STEEL RINGS for CONNECTIONS

We found that when the harness was adjusted to fit different sized people, the pull at the webbing intersections was not always in line with the straps and would stress the stitches on one side more than the other. Although more time consuming to produce, we feel connecting the straps to one another across a steel ring will result in a straight pull and a longer lasting Ground Handling Harneess.

TUBULAR WEBBING for NECK AND LEG PADS

         Various methods of padding construction were tried, from a single extra wide webbing strap, to numerous variations of built up foam pads. No matter what the construction, the side of the strap or pad always tended to cut into the neck when the wing pulled off to one side or when quickly turning around to drop the wing. Extra padding just made it feel bulky and in the way.
         We discovered that soft tubular webbing, with a small amount of non-absorbent foam padding inside, tends to roll across the skin instead of cutting into it. This construction, although more expensive to manufacture, makes for a very comfortable Ground Handling Harness, especially noticable after kiting for an extended length of time.
         The same configuration was used for the crotch pads because, for the reasons stated above, it is the most comfortable system we have tried, and at the same time not bulky feeling between the legs when running and walking like some built up foam pads can be.

SINGLE BUCKLE

         The harness is mounted and dismounted very easily with the operation of a single buckle. This makes it fast to get into and out of, and does not disturb any of the adjustments.
         The chest strap that the buckle is part of only serves to maintain the distance between the risers. Since it is not in line with the pull from the wing, the buckle only sees a fraction of the load.
         We tested numerous buckles, both plastic and metal, and discovered that the plastic held up better to abuse from mishandling such as being stepped on. Rated at 300 lbs. breaking strength, these 1-1/2" plastic buckles have proven more than adequate.
         Putting it on and taking it off does not disturb any adjustment you have made in fitting it to yourself, so it's always ready to go without fiddling with it.

ELASTIC BUTT STRAP

The elastic strap between the leg straps in back keeps the harness from creeping down between the legs while walking and running. A design criteria, which we met, was that the harness could be worn for a day working around the yard without it feeling uncomfortable, or having to stop and pull it up periodically
