La Marquesa Gallery closed due to a rent increase.
We intend to relocate the gallery once a suitable space becomes available.

La Marquesa Art Gallery is a non-profit art gallery featuring mostly unknown San Diego / Tijuana based artists who might not otherwise get an opportunity to show their work.

The goal of the La Marquesa Art Gallery is to exhibit the works of local artists, to educate the local community about art and to make art openings accessible to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend openings. It is a further goal to reach out to artists that might not think of having a show because they support themselves doing work other than making art (double production) and anticipate the criticism that their art is merely a "hobby."

Upcoming exhibitions to include:
A designer of conceptual steam-driven machines.
An installation of illuminated manuscipts consisting of houses and light, but no texts.
An installation featuring hand-made masks.

Past shows:
A mulitimedia installation including 3-D artist's books, performance and video tape.
An exhibition of sculpture and mixed media paintings.
A conceptual installation featuring a scaled model of a planned community with bilingual street names in conjunction with mixed media oil paintings.

Past Shows:
D. Emily Hicks
LeRoi Reed
