Are you crafty?
Do you want to make these for shelter kitties near you? I'll send you my complicated pattern for making these toys! (haha) Or visit the Snuggles Project run by Hugs for Homeless Animals. They make blankets and other comforting items for shelter animals. Their website has patterns for knitters, sewers, and crocheters. Or if you don't sew, buy some towels and blankets at the Goodwill and garage sales and donate them to your local shelter. Also, if you have a hospital connection, hospitals sell off lots of old bed pads that are perfect "piddle pads" for dog runs and cat cages.
