131" and 157" Wheelbase Stake trux were available thru out 1937.
Mid season, Chevrolet began offering Stake bodies on 3/4 and One ton chassis.
The Stake truck is practical for hauling large loads
with a full width bed. Variations include: With taller stakes
it becomes a Stock truck. Without stakes, a Flat bed or Table top.
With tilting bed a Dump or Tipper. With rollers added to the tilt,
It makes a great vehicle for hauling old vehicles. It's shortcoming
is a high load height. Many commercial companies ad a lift gate the aid
in loading. Many private owners take advantage of the height by placing
the engine under the bed. Mechanics hate that inaccessibility.
