Bright School Chorus

Parents Please Note: The Bright Chorus will be singing in the Spring Concert on June 13. To see the letter sent home with the chorus students last Wednesday, with information about the concert and the chorus party, click one of the following links: English  Español    (Adobe Reader required)

Students: You did a great job in the Ten Schools in Harmony Festival last week, and I am sure you will also do a great job in the Spring Concert next week!

On this web page you will find sing-along versions of some of the songs we are singing in chorus. (More of them will be added later.)

Please practice every day, and learn all the songs by heart. Listen to your voice while you are singing with the songs, and make sure that you are singing the songs with a good singing voice, in tune and in time with the music. Sing with your ears! (Of course also practice chorus songs that are not yet on this web site!)

I suggest that you add this web site to your “Favorites” (in Internet Explorer) or “Bookmarks” (in other browsers), so that you can easily come back to it, without typing the URL.

The songs below require the free QuickTime Plug-in from Apple, version 7 or later.  If you do not already have it  installed on your computer, you should see a message asking you to  install it, when you go to a song page. Please click "Yes" to that question. If you see a question asking which type of installation--Typical, Custom, or Full, choose "Full". If you do not see such a message, click the link above to go to the page to download it.

Some of the songs also have links to lyric and/or notation pages for that song, which can be printed. Some of these pages are in the PDF format, which requires another free plug-in, Adobe Reader. Most computers already have this installed. If yours doesn't, you can downloaded it for free by clicking here.

The link to "Old Songs" (below) goes to a page with songs we are not currently working on, but have sung in the past, or will work on in the future.

Troubleshooting

Songs

Click on the name of the song below to start the song. It might take a while to download the song before it starts to play, especially if you have a slow connection, especially the first time on that song. (Some of the songs might play when they are partially loaded, but will then only play part of the song, then stop. It is best to wait until the song is fully loaded.)  The two-part songs will take much longer to load than the unison (one-part) songs, as the song files are much larger. Suggestion--do something else while the song is loading, and come back to it later.(On playing the same song again later, if the song is in your browser's cache, it should load immediately.)

If you would like to download the song to a folder on your computer so that you could sing with it later without going on the Internet, you right-click on the place on the page where the song plays, then choose “Save”, or "Save As", "Save As Source....", or "Save As QuickTime Movie....". (On the Mac you press a special function key while clicking, instead of right-clicking.) You will then see a dialogue box asking you where to save the file on your hard drive.

With the songs that are in two parts, you will hear the two different sides of the chorus coming from the two speakers of your computer. If you use headphones, however, you will hear the separation of the two parts much clearer. I recommend headphones, when you are practicing by yourself. (Check that you have them on the correct ears, right and left--look for R and L on the earphones.)

Happy Singing! Let me know how this works!
