Genetic Registry for Hairless Dogs
The Genetic Registry!
What do we do?
This registry accept dogs registered as Xolo and assigns them a code that defines their genetic type as a pila, all Peruvian breeds, Mexican Hairless or other type of traditional hairless dog.
Allows purebred dogs otherwise left out of registrations due to standard changes or breed politics to be registered.
Helps dogs that have lost their heritage to begin recording it while a reconstruction of the pedigree is in progress.
The coding of types makes sure that dogs that are part of a current registry are not mixed arbitrarily with un-pedigreed dogs, and owners can decide what is in the best interest of their breed when they choose a mate.
In addition, we are keeping records that will help to learn more about the genetics of all types of hairless and rare dogs, matching what we find with historical documents to reconstruct the history of breeds along with pedigrees.
